Monthly Lecture and Potluck
The Yisrael Family Farm offers a monthly lecture and potluck starting in the spring and ending in the fall. Each month we will discuss a different topic to backyard gardeners and those wanting to know more about our food supply and how to make it better. Some topics will include:
- Urban Farming 101 - The Foundation of a Homegrown Revolution
- Backyard Gardening - Getting Started
- Permaculture Basics - Letting Nature Do Her Thing
- Garden-Based Education : What Happened to It?
- Grassroots Organizing for Community Change
4th Sunday of each Month starting in June. If there is a topic you would like to see, contact us and we will add it to our list.
The Yisrael Family Farm
Grow, Raise, Cook, Preserve
Teach, Learn, Mentor, Share
The goal of our potlucks is to bring individuals together and organically create an environment of education between the different levels of experience. Come if you are a novice, an expert, or anything in between in the topics of gardening, beekeeping, backyard chicken coops, urban farming, legislation and the like.
Bring a dish to share with the group. We want this to be a zero waste event so please bring a plate, silverware and a cup. You could even bring your dish or drink in a reusable container. We have reusable dishes to use at our potlucks.
The Yisrael Family Farm hopes to continue to communicate these events and add more speakers and activities to our calendar. To facilitate this there is a suggested donation of $5 but no one will turned away for lack of funds.
