If you feed a bunch of people like we do, then you'll love this easy way to make homemade vegetable broth for your soups.
Here's what you do:
Next time you cut up those onions, carrots, celery, leeks or tomatoes, put half in the compost bin and the other half in a gallon ziplock bag and put it in the freezer.
Once it gets full and you need a flavor base for your soup skip paying 3-4 dollars for pre-made vegetable stock.
Go right to your freezer, pull out your bag of frozen vegetable pieces(which should be about 2-3 bags by now) and add to two gallons of water.
Add a bunch of parsley, garlic, and a touch of salt and pepper and simmer till half is gone.
Strain your broth, add to your soup and whatever you don't use freeze, this stock can last up to 1 year frozen.
